U17s BOOST YOUTH

With 20 players unavailable the advantages of having an under 17 team this year, will be felt again this week by the Youth in their 2nd pre-season friendly against NHSOB RFC on the Canal Fields at 1pm.  Will Griffiths playing for Wales U18s in South Africa against France, 8 in the match day squad representing  Dragons U18s at Wasps and a further 4 tied to Dragons are the impressive reasons for such a large number of those not available.  Special mention has to be made of Jack Littlejohns who will captain the Dragons for the first time.

Last week the youth were beaten 4 trys to 2 by Mountains Ash.  The first positive was the domination of the second half to claw back 2 trys and have another couple ruled out.  Had the game gone full term a draw looked more and more probable.  The main positive for the squad though was 13 of last years under 16s played their first game of youth rugby and gave an extremely good account of themselves against a team containing mainly 2nd and 3rd year players.
