The YOUTH added the Caerphilly Youth Plate to their League Championship and Amsterdam Tournament triumph for an excellent treble in their first season. Having lost a pre-season friendly 45 nil to Risca the season looked to be a difficult one ahead. However Sundays 17-14 win against the team from 3 divisions above meant that Newbridge actually completed a double over their older and bigger opponents in the last 2 months - having beaten them 15-8 in March. Trys were scored by Iwan Burgwin and Luke Shore. Man of the match Burgwin converted both trys and it was his penalty that was the difference on the scoreboard at the final whistle - full report to follow.
