Fixture

The Spartans were playing their first game at home on the Welfare ground and there were big expectations from them after there last win against Dowlais.  From the start of the game Rhiwbina had the upper hand and posession and in the first 10 minutes scored 2 tries by getting the ball out to the winger who just outrun the spartan defence. For the rest of the first half it was all Rhiwbina and the half ended with the Spartans trailing by 40 points.  The second half started better for the Spartans and they scored a try in the first 5 minutes in the corner but were unable to convert, the team give a better performance in the second half but were still unable to stop Rhiwbina from scoring 2 tries but then finished the half with a 2nd try and a final score of 10 to the home team, 54 to the away team.  The overall team performance wasn't what the spartans can produce, there were instances of good play from the team and individuals played well, hopefully next week they will gel from the start and forget about this defeat.
