Newbridge travelled to the ‘big smoke’ this morning to play St Albans and St Peters AKA 'All Saints'. With both teams having squads of over 20 boys each the boys were up against it, but were "Never, ever' going to come away without smiles on their faces.

The first game was against St Albans and for a short while it was try for try with scores from Mason Thomas and Ollie Penny. Mackenzie Powell added another to give some breathing space and then Ellis Rees who was outstanding today, added another to make it 2-5 to Newbridge.

The next game was against St Peters ‘A’. Newbridge were warm from the previous game and started really well. Ioan Herbert, who was playing his first game for his new team was strong in attack which resulted in him  scoring two tries. Mason Thomas also added a couple along with Ollie Penny, but the biggest roar from he sidelines came with a powerful run from Oliver Thomas who went over for his first try of the season. Towards the end of the game Caden Parham got hold of the ball and run the length of the pitch to score a superb solo try to make the score 3-7 to Newbridge.

The final game was against St Peters ‘B’ and even though it was Newbridge’s third game on the trot and had to run uphill, they still had plenty in the tank. Ellis Rees who was definitely awake and full of energy unlike his mother in Mocka lounge last night, opened the scoring with some great direct and strong running. Mason Thomas added four tries and Ioan Herbert also grabbed a try. There was also another first try this season for Jake Morgan who showed good strength to bump off a number of the opposition to find his way to the line. Final score was 3-7 to Newbridge.
